Main Street Santa Monica is a great neighborhood by the beach just south of Pico with many awesome eateries, shops, salons, & bars. At a recent Where magazine event Scavenger Hunt we explored the area with Instagram #wherelamainstreetsm. Thank you to the Where family for making it all happen. Not only did we get to tone up our Instagram skills but also enjoyed an opportunity to experience the best of Main Street! Areal Restaurant which has an amazing patio and Happy Hour everyday of the week from 4pm to 7pm and all day on Sunday. Enterprise Fish Co who had the best Oyster shooters I’ve ever had and only a $1 an oyster. Basement Tavern in the Victorian is a great gathering place and very unique with live music. I loved their signature Whiskey & Raspberry cocktail and Ashland Hill is an awesome beer garden with amazing craft beers. My most favorite of the night and it was very hard to pick one would have to be Knuckle & Claw and their super yummy lobster rolls. The Lobster is flown in daily and you can really taste the freshness. It’s super casual and delicious with lots of outdoor seating. . Parking is plentiful and only a $1 an hour in Santa Monica public parking just west of Main Street. The best part about Main Street is that all these great places can be experienced in an evening and are walking distance from one another with many more interesting places in between. I hope you all get to enjoy Main Street soon!

So you have that guest that has done it all, and is looking for a unique, low key activity before a night on the town? How about a visit to one of Los Angeles’ Farmers Markets? Guests can take a leisurely stroll from one colorful stand to another, sampling an array of artisan products and culinary delights. The relaxed community vibe and outdoor assortment is just perfect for a beautiful LA day, and every vendor seems to have a unique story and passion for their product. Souvenir shopping takes on a whole new meaning as guests can find cool alternatives to that basic shot glass and key chain. Markets are an awesome place to grab a quick casual bite, and pick up healthy snacks for the rest of the day. Add the live music and children’s activities found at many markets, and you have a perfect anecdote for the guest you are hoping to impress!
